American Wine
Wine production in California has driven the USA to the forefront of the New World wine producers, producing almost 2,300 million litres of wine per year. American wine production is varied, ranging from bold Cabernet Sauvignon to sweet Chardonnays.
The West coast of America, in states such as California and Oregon, has a climate similar to that of Burgundy in France and, hence, Pinot Noir has enjoyed much success. The Zinfandel grape variety is also California's speciality and can produce fine reds, sweet pink or even sparkling wines.
