Bordeaux Wine

Bordeaux, on France's South-West coast, is arguably one of its most revered wine producing regions. The classic "Red Bordeaux" blend is made from the Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot grapes. 'Claret' has been used by the English to describe the red wines of Bordeaux.

Despite the popularity of Claret within this region there are some other fantastic wines from other grapes varieties available. Wines produced in Bordeaux have their own scoring system on five growth tiers. The first is 'Premier Cru' down to 'Cinquieme Cru' (fifth growth).
